 Principal's Message

It’s a privilege and an honor to serve as Honea Path Middle School’s principal and have the opportunity to work with you and your family during some of the most strenuous years of your child’s development. Our mission, in collaboration with the total community, is to inspire lifelong learners who apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become creative problem solvers, achieve personal success, and contribute responsibly as citizens in our diverse and dynamic world.

In order to accomplish this we hold dear several key beliefs:

  • Student’s educational success and a strong love for learning are our top priorities.

  • A positive safe school climate with highly qualified teachers and administrators are integral to the academic success of our students.

  • Students’ learning needs should be the primary focus of all decisions impacting the work of the school.

  • Students learn best when instruction is relevant, engaging, challenging, and equally accessible to all students.

  • A student’s educational experience is enhanced by positive relationships and mutual respect among students and staff.

  • Proficiency in technology is critical for communication, collaboration, innovation, and problem solving necessary for college and career readiness.

  • All learners achieve their maximum potential in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment that recognizes, values, and accommodates diverse abilities and interests.

  • Academics, arts, and athletics are vital components for a well-rounded education.

I’m excited for the year ahead which will be filled with even more opportunities for our students! Through new classes, new technologies, and new clubs our students will have greater ability to tailor their middle school experience to meet their needs and interests while taking advantage of our talented faculties varied and evolving skills and abilities.

Please feel free to stop by school at any time to share a concern, offer a high five, or schedule a time to meet with a teacher or observe a class.

My staff and I look forward to serving you!

Sincerely,

Matthew Schult

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

In 1923 during the leadership of L. L. Wright, a large brick building was erected for the original Honea Path High School.  Although most of the original high school structure is no longer standing, it is the current site for Honea Path Middle School.   Honea Path Middle School houses grades 6-8, and is also the location for the Honea Path Middle School Early Childhood Development Site.
